Ever since the 1990's I have been an ardent fan of Neil Black. We shared many experiences from discussing the pedagogy of Marcel Moyse to musical collaborations at the Marlboro and Sarasota Music Festivals. His musicality was exquisite and his love of music penetrated everything he did with the oboe. I am so grateful to have known him and to have shared the miracle of music-making with him.
